Akuma’s Combo: Multiple Heavy Punches with Ed’s Help in Street Fighter 6

Akuma, the powerful new DLC Shoto character, has a free flowing combo style in Street Fighter 6. The tool set he comes equipped with allows him to string many of his options together for flashy and hard-hitting combos, giving him access to great juggles, corner carry, and burst damage.

Extending beyond just his own tool set, though, Akuma can pull off some crazy stuff with the help of other characters. If Ed is on screen and activates his level 2 super, Akuma can actually hit a hilarious number of heavy punches all in the same combo.

This wild looking combo comes from the mind of combojisan on Twitter. The set up isn’t one that is super practical, but it’s a commonly used tactic for combo videos where the limits of the system are being tested.

We see Ed begin by tossing out his giant orb level 2 super from full screen away as Akuma tosses a single fireball at it to eat one of the super’s projectile durability points. This is likely done to ensure that everything within the combo is perfectly coordinated and Akuma doesn’t take any extra hits.

Akuma jumps behind Ed and the super leaving the opponent between the Shoto and the Psycho powered orb. From here, Akuma starts with an Adamant Flame which sees him not only hit Ed, but also take a hit himself from the level 2 super that interrupts his move animation and allows him to move and attack again earlier than he normally would be able to.

A Drive Rush cancel in from crouching medium punch lets Akuma start in on the heavy punch fun. It begins with a forward heavy punch, which again hits Ed and simultaneously clashes with the super to interrupt the animation, and Akuma repeats this over and over again mixing between forward heavy punch and standing heavy punch.

When all is said and done, Akuma hits seven heavy punches / forward heavy punches all in a row before closing it out with a cancel into Tatsu and resulting in a flashy double KO.
